I'll just post a few pictures here - without much commentary. The pictures speak for themselves.
What shocked me the most was the preponderance of fungal looking cells that were present in clusters - they dominated the samples - no matter how many times I repeated it.
These chain-like connected forms also occurred more frequently - here enlarged 10 times

On the animals....
My first animal was a road kill squirrel that had been squished in front of my house. My observations were grim. He had so much weird stuff in him, he looked like mostly assemblages. So then I figured I go out back and get some earth worms since they have red blood cells, but when I dug them up they were very small and sickly looking, green and not red/brown, and large white growths clearly visible under the skin. I didn't try to examine any more animals after that.
