These are monocrystalline aluminum oxide nanocrystals. They are an end product of military propellants synthesized by spray pyrolysis.

Aluminum oxide nanocrystals in combination with barium stronzium titanate nanocrystals, which are also produced during spray pyrolysis, result in a joint system.
